This practice is really about slowing down. I usaully listen to meditations as I go to sleep. It was a practice I start with William and lost once he was born, I then did it as part of my preparation for birth with Beatrice as still do it every evening. I almost always fall asleep. It means that first bit of sleep I get is really nourishing. Even if i’m then woken up two hours later it makes such a big difference. If you are in the early days of postpartum this can be really helpful in the day when you are feeding your baby and know they will sleep. Perhaps you listen to this. Rest doesn’t just mean going to bed and trying to sleep. It means consiously tuning out from the distractions of life and tuning into yourself.
If you enjoyed this practice I would Love to hear from you. Please do let me know if this was useful or if you have any questions. Hearing from you and having opportunity to connect with you really is the best.
You can also reach out if you want to work with me 1-2-1. The next postnatal yoga block starts in January 2026 at Chantry play in Morpeth.
Take a minuet to breathe
There is so much power in stopping even just for 10 minuets and focusing on breathing.
PS
My Massage offering is now in full flow! You can read more about how it all works here.
Closing the bones is a postnatal massage that does exactly what it says. Closes the body after pregnancy and birth. With gentle massage using Rabozo Scarves we rock the body from your head all the way to your toes. We then wrap you up and allow you some time just to breathe.
